Frequently Asked Questions

What is Psychotherapy:

Psychotherapy, also know as talk therapy, helps individuals with a broad range of emotional and behavioral sufferings. It is important to note that psychotherapy is not only for those struggling with chronic conditions but for anyone who is struggling in times of change or who feels stuck—but isn’t sure how to move forward. Working with a licensed therapist helps you, or you and your loved ones, take a strategic approach to growth and healing.

Psychotherapy can be done individually, as a couple, and as a family. Psychotherapy can be short term (lasting only a few sessions to deal with immediate issues) or long term (lasting months or even years to deal with more complex issues). Sessions are typically 45 to 75 minutes in length and the frequency of the sessions vary depending on the severity of symptoms.

How long will I be in therapy?

You can be in therapy anywhere from 3 months up to 2 years or more. The length of therapy depends on several factors including your response to treatment and prognosis, however, you have the right to terminate therapy at anytime.

Can I use my insurance?

WellBe Counseling does not take insurance. If you have out-of-network coverage, you can request a monthly super bill for reimbursement from your insurance. It is highly encouraged that you call your insurance provider prior to the onset of therapy and ask the following questions:

  • Does my policy cover psychotherapy?

  • Does my plan include out-of-network providers?

  • Do I need to get prior authorization?

  • What percentage do I get reimbursed for psychological services?
