Caitlin Buys is a Marriage and Family Therapist.
She is a passionate, kind-hearted, and curious clinician who is described by colleagues as calm, patient, and compassionate. She operates from a culturally inclusive stance and is LGBTQIA2+ affirming.
Caitlin’s therapeutic approach incorporates and borrows aspects of Process-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Humanistic, Attachment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) modalities. Collaboration is a key foundation to her approach as Caitlin holds the belief that you are the expert of your own experience. In working with Caitlin, you will work toward tuning into your somatic cues, increasing your capacity to cope with distress, and begin integrating the mind and body experience while reaching toward psychological and emotional flexibility. Through this work, you will have the opportunity to explore and process your past experiences and create a deeper sense of purpose and meaning by increasing your capacity for the present moment.
Caitlin has clinical experience with adults, children, and families. She has worked with clients navigating mood disorders, personality disorders, complex trauma, sexual and domestic abuse trauma, challenging life transitions, interpersonal conflict, and unhelpful behavioral patterns.
Caitlin strongly believes that through empowering individuals, they are able to increase their self-esteem, and self-compassion bolstering their resilience to approach each moment of their life more fully.
